The first topic I studied during my Ph.D study was about children with autism. They reject verbal communication and eye contact. They imprison themselves in the narrow gap, and repeat the stereotyped actions; they were born in human society, but they have never been able to empathize with the emotions of others. They will be stimulated by the ordinary elements in the eyes of others to suddenly fall into madness, and they will also start a long period of self-blocking and silence for no reason.
I used a lot of repetitive elements to simulate repeated and rigid movements, distorted lines to express the sense of chaos. I also chose to use black, white and red to present a feeling of tension and oppression. The entire series is conveying the state of being blocked and bounded. When wearers experience this blocked sense of suffocation, this jewelry becomes a bridge to establish a connection between normal people and autistic patients.
